The Chicco KeyFit Car Seat is designed to for infants in the weight range of 4 to 22 pounds and a maximum height of 30 inches. It is to be used in a rear-facing position only and can be installed using the LATCH system or by using the safety of your car’s seat belts in the car.
This design incorporates a Bubble level indicator on both sides so that you can easily get the seat at the correct level during installation. It can be installed both with and without the Chicco KeyFit Base which can be very helpful if you need to move the car seat from car to car and do not have a spare base available.
As this model is lighter than some, it can really help save your back as your infant grows and gets heavier when you are removing the cradle from the car. It’s also compatible with several different models of Chicco stroller line, including the S3, Cortina, and Trevi.
Side impact protection is better than most as it is using energy-absorbing foam in the construction of the seat.
An infant insert is supplied that holds smaller babies comfortably and securely weighing from 4 to 11 pounds. The infant insert works together with the 5-point harness with a one-pull tightener for easy adjustments, this helps to keep your child positioned correctly in the seat to offer excellent protection from crash forces during a crash reducing the likelihood of injury.
The seat has been certified and is suitable for airline travel if you should have to use the airplane’s own safety belts to secure the seat. Always contact your airline before flying to confirm travel safety arrangements when flying with a small infant.

The KeyFit Infant Car Seat is available in a black and gray colored design called Ombra. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully when cleaning, as using the wrong cleaning methods can seriously degrade its performance.

Care and Maintenance:
Fabrics may be spot-cleaned with mild soap and water, or machine washed in cold water on delicate cycle using a mild detergent. Hang to dry. DO NOT BLEACH.
To remove the seat cover of the car seat, please refer to the product manual.
NEVER remove Harness or harness components from Carrier. If the harness is extremely soiled or damaged, Call Chicco to order a replacement.
Sponge clean plastics, harness straps and LATCH straps using warm water and mild soap. Towel dry. DO NOT USE BLEACH, solvents, or household cleaners, as they may weaken the plastics.
To clean the buckle or LATCH hardware, rinse in a cup of warm water or sponge clean. DO NOT USE ANY SOAPS OR LUBRICANTS on the buckle or LATCH hardware. It may cause them to malfunction.
